While in most cases, you should be able to open or close the valve from the app, during a power cut, Sonic Wi-Fi has an auto shut-off mechanism to turn the power off as a safety precaution.

You can also use the handle (the emergency handle / arm lever) on Sonic to change the valve position manually. This enables the water supply to be turned on or off.

Sonic Pro:

The shut-off valve handle (the arm lever) on Sonic can be used to change the valve position manually, enabling you to stop/start the flow of water. Please remember it should only be used in emergencies, and in most cases, you should be able to manage Sonic from the app.
