The "Check-up" function periodically pressure-tests your whole water plumbing system to detect even the tiniest of leaks. It closes the valve and continuously measures the pressure for 10 minutes to look for unexpected drops in pressure, which may suggest a pin hole leak.
The tests are conducted daily but you can customise the time the pressure test is conducted in the Sonic app. By default, it is set up for 3 am (where most people are unlikely to use water).
How do I customise the Check-up time?
To do this, launch your Sonic app, then under "Check-up", tap the settings icon (the cog) to the right of CHECK UP to set a new time. Please note that should the test be interrupted, i.e. someone uses water during the test, the test will be aborted and the valve opened, so as to enable water usage.
Also, if you scroll down, you can see a TEST RESULTS calendar which will show all of your previous test results and let you see which check-ups might have failed.
My check-ups test keeps failing - what can I do?
If you can't find the source of the test failure, we recommend that you try to isolate some appliances such as dishwashers or washing machines from their respective valves. If the test results pass, then you have located the source of the issue, but if not, we recommend that you contact your plumber as you may have a leak.
It is also possible that one of your appliances is using water differently and causing a pressure drop - we detect such problems in installations with boilers or heat pumps. To make sure this is the source of the problem, isolate it from the system according to the appliance manual (usually appliance must be turned off) and perform the check-up again.
